Policy Guidelines
What our policies cover The insurance cover is WORLD WIDE and is for period of 12 months. It is underwritten by QBE Insurance (Australia) Ltd.
The customer is covered against:
LOSS– inside and outside the home (many household policies only cover loss inside the home)
THEFT– goods stolen from home or outside the home
DAMAGE– i.e. stones lost or damaged, claw or setting damage, watch glass breakage etc
The cover is limited to $30,000* for a single item and $60,000* for multiple items on one or more policies.
We cannot exceed these limits.
Customers are insured upon completing an Insurance Application Form (for policy document please click “here” at a nominated store** and paying the premium.)
Cover is for jewellery only. We cannot cover loose stones.
The premium is based on an agreed value of an item. Item/s do not need to be insured at the full retail replacement price.
We will require a copy of a current valuation (no older than 12 months), attached to the insurance application form for any items valued by a store. For items purchased at a store, a simple description of the item/s will be sufficient.
A Certificate of Insurance (please see sample) document will be forwarded to the customer within 5-10 business days of receiving the completed application form.
A $50.00 claim lodgment fee applies at the commencement of a claim. Claims are settled by QBE Insurance (Australia).
All claims related administration is handled by The Valuation Centre of Australia. We can be contacted on (02) 9419 7908 or Toll Free 1800 111 119, Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.
In the event of a claim and its subsequent approval, the customer must return to the store where the insurance was first arranged to collect a repaired/replacement item. There is NO CASH SETTLEMENT.
In the eleventh month of cover, a renewal letter will be forwarded to the customer with a quote for further 12 months insurance.
